One of the regular affairs at Festival Ballet Providence is their Up Close on Hope performances that usually run for several weekends. The performance is in their main studio with the audience sitting “up close” to the dancers to feel their muscles twitch, hear them breathe, and feel the performance as well as see it. This year’s UCoH started last weekend and I was lucky to catch their dress rehearsal on October 25, the last rehearsal before the first performance and I am pleased to share the photographs from that session with you.
The UCoH will run for two more weekends, Friday and Saturday starting this coming weekend. It is a very enjoyable experience, I highly recommend that you make an effort to see and experience this performance. You will never get this close to a live ballet performance. By the way, there is one piece missing from the photographs below, Pietà which I featured in a dedicated post earlier.
Enjoy the photographs, and I hope you get a chance to enjoy the live performance (with a wine reception during the intermission.)
