Festival Ballet Providence has been presenting a gala performance, Together We Dance, for the last five years. It brings world-class ballet performers to Providence to delight the audiences. In these very delayed posts, I present photographs to give you a taste. Except for a few photographs, they are all from live performances. I tried to get the dancers to pick the photographs they would like me to present, and many helped me with that (marked with an *.) The rest, I picked based on my photographic and admittedly limited ballet sensibilities. Here is the program:
- Adaptive Dance Students
- Tchaikovsky Pas Des Deux – Vilia Putrius and Mindaugas Bauzys (*)
- Summer – Greta Hodgkinson and Etienne Lavigne (*)
- FBP School Dancers
- Viscera – Emily Bromberg and Shimon Ito
- Heaven Can Wait – Ilya Burow, Alex Lanz, Ian Matysiak
- Romeo and Juliet – Megan Zimny Kaftira and Remi Wörtmeyer (*)
- Disarmed – Greta Hodgkinson (*)
- Black Swan – Ashley Ellis and Nelson Madrigal (*)
- In Passing – Ruth Whitney, Alan Alberto, Emily Loscoco, Harunaga Yamakawa
- Pieta – Vilia Putrius and Mindaugas Bauzys (*)
- Don Quixote – Megan Zimny Kaftira and Remi Wörtmeyer (*)
For more detailed information, please refer to the FBP press release. And enjoy the photographs with a fair warning that there are about 100 photographs in the gallery. However, keep in mind that altogether these photographs represent no more than a total of a couple of minutes at best from a great performance. You should plan to see the whole thing next year.
I had two of the pieces featured earlier, Disarmed and Pieta. You can view the related posts for more photographs from those pieces.
