Spring Flowers 2022

Actually, it has been spring, summer, winter, and spring within a couple of weeks this year. Despite the sudden changes in temperature that made most of us uncomfortable, plant life and nature displayed their colors and beauty.

Spring Flowers Everywhere

We have many flowering trees around us with graceful branches. They even create colorful displays when their flowers fall to the ground. Within about a couple of hundred feet from our house were colorful displays put out by Japanese flowering cherry and Norway maple.

More Walks, More Flowers

Walking a little further in either direction would greet you with flowering dogwoods, Muscari, and creeping phlox. And, in the wilderness next door you might see Damask violets in bunches.

51^st Anniversary Among Our Flowers

And in our front and backyards, we had quite a display of irises from yellow bearded irises to bluish-purple Siberian irises, with a few Dutch irises in cameo roles. Along with them, one of the peony bushes we planted last year bloomed, the big rhododendron in the front started its cycle, and the honeysuckle is putting on a great show this year. Among all these gorgeous displays, Jan and I celebrated our 51^st anniversary. Dennis snapped the photograph in the backyard when we all had dinner for the occasion.
