It was a small gathering to celebrate the opening of the Sacred Spaces II, the last showing of the Hagia Sophia collection along with the photographs from the jewel-like Panagia Isodion.
Sacred Spaces II Opens
Jan made two kinds of baklava, in addition to the regular flavor she also made the almond-coconut variety. We carried them to the hallway where the exhibit was and where Paula had arranged a table for serving the refreshments. Paula is the art coordinator for the Lifespan group of health care facilities and the person who invited me to show the new collection in the Davol Corridor Gallery.
After we got settled, our friend Jim Turner came with his camera and took all the photographs you see in this post, thanks, Jim. Some passing doctors stopped by and shared their experiences in Hagia Sophia and expressed their appreciation for the exhibit.
A doctor and a photographer friend, Syed Rizvi came early and we chatted about the show as well as their family trip to Istanbul. Later, several friends stopped by, some had seen the photographs before but wanted to be with us on this occasion as well. Towards the end, after Jim had left, my asthma and allergy doctor arrived with his wife and son and enjoyed the show. All enjoyed the show and of course Jan’s baklava. Thank you all for coming.
Here are some photographs, all photographs are by Jim Turner.

Sometimes much simpler snapshots count more (although I admit they are far beyond ordinary snapshots).
Thanks to Jim Turner. Now we can witness once more, even partly, those fantastic prints – and Jan and you.
I am overly conservative about traditional dishes. Baklava with almond-coco will never be my favourite..
..or perhaps until I taste Jan’s :)
Best regards from Antalya Cemal, and many thanks for the sharing.

I am a conservative person too when it comes to traditional dishes, but this combination has been really great. Maybe one day you will taste Jan’s baklava.
We have the sun out but still a bit chilly. Take care.

Thanks to Jim Turner’s photos we were able to share a lot with Cemal, Jan, the contributors to the exhibition, and the visitors thousands of miles away. You look great Cemal, in front of the photographs you have taken, had framed and carried from one exhibition to the other, Sacred Spaces, I am sure, have left unforgettable images in the memories of us all. The photos nos. 16 and 18 have been my favourites, do make a note Cemal Hoca! Sincere thanks, and appreciation. Love to you and Jan.,
By the way, we cannot taste the baklava, but keep imagining; Elif’s Bohemian baklava, and Jan’s new variation.

Yes, Jim was kind enough to record the exhibit. Maybe one day you will enjoy Jan’s baklava. Love to you all.

Cemal,
I work at Rhode Island hospital often and I always stop to see what they have on display in these cases. I have seen a couple of these prints quite a while ago when you shared them at a PSRI meeting. I have never seen them on metal. I look forward to enjoying them when I am there.
Congratulations on your exhibit.

Thanks Steve. Enjoy it until the 28th.

Prof. Congratulations on another terrific exhibit of your work. Hopefully I can make a trip up to RI to see.
Best wishes, Ken
