On the hills that connect the town of Ayvalik to Bergama, ancient Pergamon, the Kozak Plateau grows the graceful Pinus Pinea, Umbrella Pine. These trees yield pine nuts that provide the main source of income to the people of the area.
The environment where these trees grow is almost plant-hostile. The ground is covered mostly with stones and rocks, and some trees emerge from the cracks of large boulders. This might be the reason for another name given to these trees, Stone Pine.
This limited edition folio presents the gorgeous trees in their element. The shape is graceful; and the space created by the trees and boulders, very dynamic.
