Orchis Prints Available

March 16, 2013 by A. Cemal Ekin

Orchis Prints

A small collection of photographs from the Orchis Collection are now available in the Kept Light Store. They are lab-printed on metallic paper, all are 10″ x 15″. See the detail and the collection in the store page. The introductory price of these prints is $50 each until the end of April 2013 after which it will be $100 each. As the introductory text explains, the shipping charges will be added to the purchase, but if you live nearby and would like to pick up your print let me know of this and I will refund the shipping charges.

The four large prints that we used at the World Première of Orchis as part of the display in the lobby are also available for purchase. There are only those four that I will designate as the “Orchis World Première Prints”. They are 24″ x 36″ in size, printed on the same metallic paper, mounted on GatorBoard with a hanging block on the back. The prints are very durable and can be displayed without glass in front provided that they will be handled with care against fingerprints and are placed away from direct sunlight. Of course, framing them behind glass will provide additional protection. These four prints are $500 each, I will sign them on verso and note the uniqueness of these prints. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing any from that extremely small collection. (Note: These prints are no longer available.)

A Rare Bird
Half Male Half Female

In a backyard in Erie, Pa., an unusual cardinal has appeared, displaying both male and female traits. Scientists say it may be a so-called gynandromorph.

Bird Photography

“Pentti Sammallahti’s exhibition focuses on one of his most consistent and compelling subjects: birds. These residents of the land, sea and sky find their way into the Finnish photographer’s field of vision no matter what country he explores” See all at The Guardian
