Yesterday morning we were invited for coffee at Aysel hanim’s house. They live in an old house near Camlik. The house is set back quite a bit from the road and the front entry has two rows of tall palm trees. In the old days there used to be a walkway between the rows of palm trees but recently they rearranged the garden and moved the walking path to one side giving a less formal look to the garden. The view from the patio was overlooking the Aegean Sea beyond the palm trees.
We had coffee, then a delicious homemade lemonade. She was a very gracious hostess and we chatted about the community service and organization in Ayvalik. She apparently was quite active in making things happen.
