Mina, Elif, and Tolga are in Rhode Island this year around Mina’s birthday. We had a chance to celebrate it with some of the neighbors and Mina’s friends. Her friend in pink outfit is Briana and the other little one is Briana’s sister Katelyn with their parents, Crissy and Tommy. They had fun, and lots of gifts arrived for Mina; even her uncle’s gifts arrived on time for her to open them.
Mina wanted a Cinderella cake, which was ordered yesterday and picked up this morning before going for a “hayride.” I heard that it was lots of fun on the back of the horse-drawn cart around the inlets of Pawtuxet. Then the gang went and had their nails done (you will see in the pictures their colorful fingernails), and came home for lunch. The girls had some macaroni and cheese and hot dogs, we had calzone, salads, chips, and dips. Then came the cake with lots of candles that Elif had to blow them out for Mina who managed to blow out the very last one. Gifts were opened, trash was picked (thanks, Katelyn!), some commotion, excitement, then everyone crashed for a nap.
The following video probably captures the spirit of the day.
