Kingston Rail Station, RI

Kingston Station

December 4, 2014 //  by A. Cemal Ekin

Kingston Rail Station, RI

Yesterday I accompanied Jim to visit the Kingston Rail Station. It was a bit chilly, slightly drizzly, overcast day. The station, which I visited for the first time, was a small but well-maintained structure with a sizable parking lot for the commuters. The plan was to see Acela Express, the high-speed express whiz by in both directions and catch a regional train to stop to pick up passengers.

We took the elevator to the overpass level and I decided to remain there since it was a bit more comfortable with no wind and drizzle. Jim decided to go on the track where the first Acela was expected to arrive –you will see him walking in one of the photographs. We managed to greet, in passing that is, Acela twice and watched the passengers get on the regional to take off from Kingston.

In addition to the still photographs, there are three animated GIF files that combine 3-5 photographs taken in sequence into an animation. Animation will continue until you move to the next photograph.

    Hi Cemal,

I have stood many times in the exact positions you chose for your Kingston Station images, and yet I have failed to see as well.

Thanks for the images, and the inspiration.

Bad weather probably helped Ed. Thanks for stopping by.

That the mission was for the trains has not made you blind to other wonderful hidden frames that you have been able to see and capture. I especially liked the “looking out of the window” frames, and the parking lot.

    Keep up the energy, Cemal!

Thanks Haluk, I too like the “looking out the window” frames, especially the one with heavy window frame strongly dividing the photograph. The vision there was to make several nested photographs within one photographic frame.
