We wish you a very happy holiday season
and a wonderful new year
As tiring and challenging as the last two years have been, we try to rise to the challenge and wish that you all are doing the same. Better days are ahead and we need to stay alive to gather again when those days come. We have not seen our girls, Elif and Mina for over two years and miss them a lot. But, one day we will be together, in good health!
As a small holiday gift and to say once more Happy Holiday, here is a slide show of photographs I took in the film photography days and scanned recently. They are all from the Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora in Istanbul. The magnificent frescos and mosaics are prime examples of Byzantine art. Some of these may no longer be visible to the public when they visit the museum. Click on the images to see them larger. The first one, the Anastasis fresco is Jan’s favorite.
Have a great 2022!
Thanks, Jim, for taking our photograph! In case you are wondering, it is not the same photograph from early 2021.
