Exhibit Opening Reception

March 4, 2017 by A. Cemal Ekin

The Trees of the Aegean, II exhibit started on March 1, 2017, and the reception was scheduled for March 3, 2017. Many friends and interested, curious members of the Central Congregational Church showed up to see the show, chat about the photographs of the trees, enjoy Jan’s baklava, and celebrate another event at the gallery. We started the evening at 5 PM and soon people started to show up. Some stayed a short while, leaving after viewing the photographs; others hung around, chewed the fat, enjoyed talking shop and Jan’s baklava and hummus. Thank you all for coming to the opening. And to those who decided to, or in the process of deciding to purchase a piece, a very special thanks; you know a good deal when you see one!

Below are some photographs I took, friends took, and the second batch of photographs that came to me from Jim Scott who serves on the gallery committee of the church, thank you, Jim.

Glad you liked it second time around. The long, linear presentation looked better than around the corners of four walls. Thanks for joining us.

Thanks a lot for the display Cemal!
I would have loved to see more participants though.
I understand your values are quite vulnareble to “ıska geçiş” as we say in Turkish.
Well done and keep it up!
Best regards from a very cold Kozaklı!

Haluk, 40 people coming to a solo exhibit, at a church gallery is not bad at all. Although Jan was prepared for twice the visitors despite my estimates around 35-40. Optimism about attendance does not make it happen!

      Kozakli’ya selam, seralara devam!

Bird Photography

“Pentti Sammallahti’s exhibition focuses on one of his most consistent and compelling subjects: birds. These residents of the land, sea and sky find their way into the Finnish photographer’s field of vision no matter what country he explores” See all at The Guardian
