Mina imitating Pasha

Elif and Mina in RI

June 23, 2016 by A. Cemal Ekin
Mina imitating Pasha

The week started with the Fathers Day which greeted me with a couple of lovely roses Jan picked up for me from the back yard. In addition to their great look, the scent was delightful. The next day late afternoon Elif and Mina arrived to spend a couple of weeks with us. As is our habit, we went to Rigatoni’s for supper and returned home after a good meal. That evening the girls spent time with their friends who came to visit them.

Birthday Shopping For Elif

The next day was an outing for Jan, Mina, and I to find gifts for Elif’s birthday the following day. I found a couple of dresses at Macy’s and Mina and Jan approved the style and size. Mina also found a nice top for her mother. We went upstairs and Mina found a few goodies for herself and we came out to the mall. They went to the CVS drugstore to get a couple of odds and ends and I sat down and waited in the waiting area. After supper, I took Elif and Mina to Newport Creamery for ice cream as Jan stayed with Pasha. Later on we all watched half of Zootopia movie Mina brought with her, an animated feature touching on some social issues in a suitable way.

Elif’s Birthday

On June 22, we started the day with a nice breakfast then gave Elif her birthday gifts. They all fit! And looked very nice on her, she wore the white dress that evening as we went out to Cassarino’s Ristorante on Federal Hill for a nice dinner. Pasha had a grooming appointment at 11 AM, I took him with Jan and Mina to the groomer. Jan and Mina waited there and I returned and continued our WordPress training with Elif. Pasha looked very handsome, although he has some vision and memory problems he seems to be doing reasonably well physically so far. Our friend Jim had offered to take group photographs after the grooming and he came around 3:30 PM and took several family pictures of all of us.

Dinner at Cassarino’s

Before settling for dinner at Cassarino’s, we stopped over at Pastiche to pick up a lemon mouse cake Elif enjoys. Dinner was good, good food and service. On top of all that, there is no noise! It is not one of the new fad, extremely noisy restaurants. After dinner they brought Elif’s birthday cake which was very enjoyable, Pastiche does not disappoint! At home, Elif was tired and went to bed early, Mina, Jan, and I watched half of Pirates of the Caribbean, I; Mina’s current favorite movie series, four parts!

WordPress Training

After breakfast, this morning Elif and I worked on her training on WordPress. I thought using a hosting company in Utah would be better for her but the process proved to be very cumbersome and we ended up canceling the account to start a new one at my usual hosting company. Around lunch time I offered to take them to the Cozy Grill. After a nice lunch, Elif and Mina went to meet her old friend Jenifer and her kids. They have just returned! We’re home tonight and tomorrow is the brunch at American Girl store in Natick Mall.

Here are some photographs from our last few days.

I have found out that we have a tremendous amount of noise pollution here; an occasional quiet atmosphere is so welcome now and then. I understand I am not alone!

Thanks for sharing the lovely and peaceful memories with us, Cemal.
Huzur ve sağlık dolu nice yıllar dilerim.

This is the new thing, they say a high noise restaurant is a popular “in” place. I say, a high noise restaurant is, well, noisy! We are enjoying having the girls. Thanks for stopping by Haluk.

      Take care,

      Cemal
