A new threat has been discovered that makes Internet Explorer users vulnerable. Microsoft acknowledged the problem and is working to issue a fix. However, Windows XP will not get any fix other than upgrading to Windows 7 or 8.
You can take a few precautions:
- Do not use Internet Explorer, any version. Download and use Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari
- If you must use Internet Explorer disable Flash in the browser
The vulnerability allows a hacker to gain full access to the computer, add new users with full privileges, install programs, and delete files. This is a serious problem and I highly recommend that you take steps to protect your computer.
