This page will present photographs in coherent galleries. The main purpose is to share my work in one place, just as visiting an exhibit. Some of these photographs will be published in a folio, printed in a magazine format, exhibited and thus gain commonality through my planning. Others will share a location, an idea, or other common threads that will bind them together. Many of the photographs you will see in the gallery section are also viewable as part of related posts. Here, the presentation will feature larger photographs than those in the post galleries. The contents of the gallery page will change from time to time to present new collections. In time, they may take a different form and may appear altogether if I can devise a way of keeping the clutter down.
All the photographs you see are available for purchase, some are already in the store in folio or magazine format. For larger size prints please contact me for pricing and size availability.
Infrared Earthscapes
Infrared photographs captured from the window of commercial planes, as published in the LensWork Extended #97 November-December 2011. They depict the grand vistas as abstractions, and too grand to be called landscapes. Thus the name, IR Earthscapes.
The
Flora Gallery
A collection of flower photographs, covering a variety of plants presented in the style of the old process platinum toned monochrome images. A magazine style publication is available in the store.
The
Great Salt Lake Folios
After a several hour flight over the Great Salt Lake on August 8, 2008 I have compiled the photographs I took during the flight into 8 separate folios. This gallery presents the photographs included in these folios. The published folios are available for purchase in the store.
Newport-
Westport From Air
I took a helicopter ride over Newport – Westport strip for the purpose of “image hunting.” I aimed to photograph the scenes as I encountered and responded to them. These photographs are also published in a magazine format available in the store.
Touching
The History: Photographs from the Dome of Hagia Sophia
I took this extraordinary collection of photographs from the dome of the Great Church, Hagia Sophia. Using the scaffolding with special permission to ascend to the center of the dome, I spent several hours photographing from that unusual vantage point and also from the roof of Hagia Sophia. They are available as a limited edition folio in the store as well as individual photographs.
A
yvalik
Ayvalik is a town on the Aegean coast of Turkey. Surrounding Ayvalik is rich history and nature. Troy, Pergamon, Mt. Ida are easy driving distance; the gentle hills of Kozak Plateau with graceful pine trees, and olive orchards all around make Ayvalik a rewarding place to visit. This gallery should provide a sense of place and texture of the town.
Ko
zak Plateau Print Folio
Pinus Pinea provides pine nuts and grows in condition that would be hostile to many other plant varieties. Not only do they thrive in that rocky, stoney soil they develop graceful forms to delight photographers as well. This collection presents the contents of the limited edition folio.
Eggsperiments
Studying a subject, in this case a couple of ostrich and one emu egg, can be fun and educational. After the photo session, actually quite a bit after, I also experimented with putting the emu egg in different imaginary settings inspired by the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
