Combining the parting gift that my students gave me with that of my sister and brother-in-laws birthday gift, I am going to have another helicopter ride this afternoon. Dennis and I will take off from Newport, RI around 3:40 pm and scout photo opportunities for about 45 minutes. Thanks for my parting gift my young friends, and thanks for my birthday gift Binnaz and Ergun. I will post photographs as soon as I have something to show. I am taking with me the newly modified Canon T2i to take infrared photographs, I want to experiment with that along with traditional color photography. The weather is great, a little hot but very clear. They will remove the doors on the helicopter, so it should be nice and cool. This is my second “up in the air” birthday gift, thanks.
I have also been updating the site content, mainly the video content. The streaming video now comes from Vimeo where I got a premium account that allows HD format. In fact, the circumstances almost push you in the direction of uploading HD format. I have already converted some videos, slide shows mainly, to HD format. You can see them in 720p quality if you have the bandwidth. If they are choppy, you can turn off the HD quality by clicking on the blue HD on the player bar. Please post comments and let me know of your HD experience, quality of video play, stuttering, and anything else that is worth noting. Note that you can click on the full screen icon next to HD to maximize the playback size.
